Being an Issaquah family photographer is such a blessing. It’s such a beautiful area, and filled with stunning places for family photos.
Where would you be the most comfortable for a family photo session? Is there a particular place that showcases your family and it’s dynamic personality? When planning a family photo session with clients in the Seattle, WA areas, so often we head to the great outdoors. This is never a bad or wrong choice. The results are simply beautiful, and I enjoy these sessions and their outcomes very much, as do my clients. This year, I’m offering a new approach.
Have you considered having an in-home lifestyle family session? The photos you see below is just one example of a gorgeous and fun experience I had with a beautiful couple and their handsome (and so sweet) twin 2 year old boys, in their very own home. Thank goodness we chose this route, because this particular day was one of the worst wind storms of this year.
As you can see below, a lifestyle session allows for so much more versatility. Your children are more comfortable in their own environment, and are more likely to show genuine smiles while showing me their favorite book (sharks!) We laughed, we cuddled, we spoke softly, and we played. Pure, genuine love simply shines through the photos from this session.

I am spoiled, as a Seattle maternity photographer, with the gorgeous scenery of our picturesque state. Venturing a bit farther than my usual area, I drove to Snohomish, WA to meet this lovely lady at McCollum Park–something I try to do with every client. The park provided to us a beautiful woodland backdrop for her maternity photo session. We took a walk along the trails and got to know one another a bit, and left with warm smiles.
Beautiful, soft spoken, and with a wonderful smile, I quickly felt like Lindsey and I were old friends. As a very shy person, that’s an unusual occurrence. When we met for the first time, I knew this session would be smooth and turn out to be one of my best.
A couple weeks later, with her husband and beautiful daughter, Lindsey shined amidst the tall trees in her royal blue gown. Could there have been a better color to wear in that forest? Absolutely not. This photo session went longer than usual, but we soaked up every last inch of light shining through those trees. It was wonderful.

I love the excitement of an impending new arrival. This lovely mama was due for an induction on Monday, February 29th, but woke up to the welcome surprise of her water breaking! Nolan arrived that afternoon as a Leap Year baby!
As a Seattle family photographer, being able to photograph a brand new, tiny person, is perhaps the most rewarding part of my profession. Providing these memories for families is just a small part of the joy that fills me during these sessions. I get to see and hold sweet babies!
Nolan, welcome to this big, crazy world. Your siblings and parents are beyond excited to have you! I feel so blessed to be one of the few people to have met you in the first 24 hours of your life.

Meet Maya. She is my sweet, loving, annoying, yappy, stubborn, and adorable Shiba Inu. She pretty much does her own thing (the stubborn part) and expects non-stop loving attention from us humans. I was never a dog person. In fact, I was far from being a dog person. They smell, they drool, they’re needy. But one lick from this sweet girl was all I needed. The cute fluffy tail wiggle might’ve helped a bit, too. She turns 7 in one week…. makes me realize how little time we have left with her. My life has been forever changed by her furry little face and I cannot image my life without her.

First time to drive to Mercer Island, and it was for a beautifully sweet wedding between two very lovely people. Their first dance was filled with happy tears, laughter, and so many smiles of joy! I’m fairly sure I pulled a muscle in my face from smiling so often. If I could pick one thing to do for the rest of my life, it would be to witness moments like this.

Typically, I love ALL my sessions. Very rarely do I have one where I don’t feel like things turned out phenomenally and perfectly. But super rarely… I have a session where, even nearly a year later, I can’t help but go back to those particular photos and think: “Dang. This is one beautiful family, and a session I will remember for all time.” This is one of those sessions. My clients become like friends to me, and this family is no exception. In fact, they started out as friends, and I can honestly say that it was this lovely bunch that inspired my journey.
From maternity photos 5 years ago, to newborn photos, family photos, wedding photos, and now this?! Talk about awesome.
For their family session, we went to the lovely Larsen Lake Blueberry Farm in Bellevue, WA. As a Seattle area family photographer, location scouting is something I do regularly, to keep things fresh and unique. This particular location has so much to offer, from a quaint little cabin, complete with a perfect front porch swing, to a lovely trail that wraps around a pond, and blueberry bushes all around. Their Spring family photo session was made perfect by the appearance of stunning and vibrant flowers.
*** Erin DuPree Photography is now offering limited Spring family photography sessions in Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, Bothell, Woodinville, Sammamish, Issaquah, and Seattle, WA. Sessions begin late March. Book now to secure your date–these fill fast!

One of the greatest parts of this profession is getting to meet and snuggle with brand new little people. How exciting that I get to document some of their first days of life in this wide world, and witness their expressive personalities. Baby Aveena smiled more than any other neighbor I’ve ever seen. It makes me wonder: Who will Aveena become, and what wonderful things will she accomplish? Perhaps she will grow to be a loving nurse, providing care to our society through touch and through medicine. Or, maybe a teacher, scientist, fashion designer, athlete, or astronaut. The world is her limit–unless you count the expanse of space.
Aveena, I wish you a life full of wonder, happiness, experiences, and discovery.
Welcome to the world.

Families like this one make my job as a family photographer SO easy. The smiles, the laughter, the twirling, and the running. This was one of the last Autumn sessions of the season.
Since I was a little girl, I have dreamed of living in a place where I can experience all 4 seasons, complete with the glorious colors of fall. These lovely family photos were taken in Kirkland, WA at the beautiful Saint Edwards Park. Experiencing these wonderful moments, getting to meet wonderful families, and experiencing the beauty of the outdoors here in our beautiful Pacific North West, is the best job, ever.

Those first few days are the most precious, and the most fleeting. Tiny fingers and toes, squishy cheeks, sleepy eyes, and dreamy faces–all so perfect. A lifestyle newborn photo session is the perfect way to ensure that these memories are tangibly preserved, long after these tiny little moments are gone. Welcome to the world, baby Ry! Your big brother is very happy and excited that you have arrived.

I spent a lovely afternoon with my favorite little boy. He is a spitfire, adorable, and oh so sweet. We found sticks, water bugs, snails, and beautiful flowers along the way.
The forests near Seattle, WA are truly some of the most beautiful. This location was just a short drive from Redmond, WA, so I will be utilizing it for clients in the future! 🙂
