As a Redmond newborn photographer, one of my greatest moments of joy is when I receive news of a new arrival joining one of my sweet families. A few years ago, I captured some of the most endearing moments between a new family of 3. Sweet little Maeve was tiny, and perfect, with parents that are just as beautiful as she. Somehow, they rolled the genetic dice and created another perfect and beautiful little baby–a little brother named Barry. I was ecstatic to head over and see their family again and to meet her new baby brother for their newborn photography session.
I arrived on yet another beautiful day (very much like their first session) to spend 2 delightful hours photographing this new family of 4.
Soon after I arrived, I noticed that Maeve takes her new role as Big Sister very seriously, let me tell you. We watched her shower him with gentle kisses, hugs, and simply enjoying being in his presence. She did not enjoy being separated from him. I don’t blame her!
I witnessed the cutest moment. “Barry! My Barry!” Maeve cried as she watched her daddy take her Barry to his room to be changed.
Thank goodness, Maeve’s daddy brought Barry back to her, and all was well again. I felt the anguish and relief.
As a newborn photographer, those are favorite moments. Because of amazing clients like these, I get to experience more and more of them!
As a Redmond newborn photographer, lifestyle newborn photography sessions are a wonderful way to capture genuine smiles, real emotion, and they’re fun, too! Best yet, an in-home newborn session means that you can stay home–because who likes rushing out the door with a toddler and newborn? Let me come to you.

As a Seattle maternity photographer, it’s wonderful when your best friend asks you to capture her own maternity photos! We connected over our boys and their love for Transformers toys, our mutual love for photography, and our puny statures. She was already super pregnant and soon to give birth with her 3rd–Alice, whose grand entrance I was blessed to be able to capture as my very first attempt at being a birth photographer.
When my friend told me she was pregnant again this past winter, I admit, I was shocked. A NEW BABY IS COMING! Commence the impatience and excitement.
Fast forward to TODAY. Little Clara is soon to be born. Probably today, maybe tomorrow (though for my dear friend’s sake, I hope it’s today.)
I’ll be waiting in that room, right alongside her, and I couldn’t be more happy. Being there for my sweet friend, to cheer her on, and to capture all those first moments of Clara’s life–is my idea of a perfect day. Seattle Birth Photographer + Most Awesome Friend + New Baby = Pure Bliss.
Clara, we are all ready for you to arrive.

Sometimes, a photo session goes SO perfectly, that I honestly cannot believe my eyes.
Expect to see many more lovely images from this couple’s maternity photo session, very soon.

Sunshine, green grass, happy toddler, beautiful family. What more could I ask for? This summer has been filled with more rainy days than I can remember in the last 5 years in the beautiful North West, but it’s made me treasure these sweet summer days.
The Matote family might look a bit different from the outside, but I can’t describe how amazing it was to meet them and witness their love for each other.
Through a personal project, I met the lovely Love and her family while documenting Adoption Family Stories. Here is their story:
We are George, Love and Isaac. Our family came together through adoption after 10 LONG years of infertility. I knew I was meant to be a Mom, and I couldn’t fathom why God would put that desire so deeply in my heart if he wasn’t going to fulfill the promise.
About the same amount of money most people would spend on a new car, we spent on medical testing and fertility treatments, and still no kids. To our surprise, fertility testing revealed my husband had cancer! When we heard the “c” word, all thoughts about children flew out the window. We focused on surgery, treatment and healing. Hubby is well and has been cancer free for over 5 years. Thank you God!
At first, my hubby was not open to the idea of adoption. But after the long and winding journey we were on, I asked him about adoption again. It turns out he had been listening to a radio station featuring adoption stories for a whole month. God had been working on his heart through that radio station, and I didn’t have to say a word.
Our son Isaac came into our family in April 2013. We met him at the hospital when he was 2 days old. We met his birth mom and dad for about half an hour, and they chose us to be his forever family.
We thank God every day for the gift of Isaac, the gift of family. And we hope to add to our family again this year through adoption.

One of the greatest parts of this profession is getting to meet and snuggle with brand new little people. How exciting that I get to document some of their first days of life in this wide world, and witness their expressive personalities. Baby Aveena smiled more than any other neighbor I’ve ever seen. It makes me wonder: Who will Aveena become, and what wonderful things will she accomplish? Perhaps she will grow to be a loving nurse, providing care to our society through touch and through medicine. Or, maybe a teacher, scientist, fashion designer, athlete, or astronaut. The world is her limit–unless you count the expanse of space.
Aveena, I wish you a life full of wonder, happiness, experiences, and discovery.
Welcome to the world.

I spent a lovely afternoon with my favorite little boy. He is a spitfire, adorable, and oh so sweet. We found sticks, water bugs, snails, and beautiful flowers along the way.
The forests near Seattle, WA are truly some of the most beautiful. This location was just a short drive from Redmond, WA, so I will be utilizing it for clients in the future! 🙂

We braved some serious mud and cold water last night for this beautiful shot. It was SO worth it! 🙂
Sadly, Rattlesnake Lake (near North Bend, WA) is so sadly depleted. I believe I read that it is the lowest the water level has been in decades.

This sweet little boy is turning 3 years old and he is a bundle of energy and joy. I remember not too long ago it was my own boy’s 3rd birthday. My goodness how the time FLIES by faster than a blink.
That red trike was never far from this little guy, and we had so much fun and laughter together. The weather at Juanita Bay Park in Kirkland, WA was simply perfect for our photo session, too, providing beautiful sunshine to filter through the trees.
My body was sore after this session! With all the squatting, climbing, running, jumping, twirling, skipping and tickling I do, I imagine there’s a good amount of muscle work going on. Talk about a FUN way to exercise! 🙂
